How are jobs posted on Upwards?

A job on Upwards begins with a Care Request created by a family seeking care. Families share their needs—such as the age of their loved one, the type of care they’re looking for, and their preferred schedule. This request is then posted as a job on the Upwards Job Board, ready for providers like you to view and respond to. Here’s a quick guide on the two types of jobs you may see and the ways they’re shared with you:


Familiy-Created Jobs - Families can use Upwards as a free service, which allows them to create their own Care Requests. These requests go directly to the Job Board, where any provider can see and respond to them. We recommend turning on notifications so you’ll be the first to know when new jobs open up near you! Review any job that interests you, and if it feels like a great fit, express your interest and send a message to the family! 


Navigator - Created Jobs for Corporate Employees - Upwards also works with companies to help their employees find trusted care through our concierge services. In these cases, a Childcare Navigator from Upwards will create and post a job on behalf of the family, acting as a “matchmaker” to connect them with the best available providers. When a Navigator is involved, you may see these jobs marked with Navigator information, and a Navigator might even reach out to you to discuss the specific needs of a family in advance. 


How are jobs shared with Providers?

Most jobs, whether family-created or Navigator-created, are posted on the Upwards Job Board for you to explore. You can review each job’s details and reach out to the family directly if you’re interested in learning more or offering your services.


Sometimes, an Upwards Childcare Navigator may contact you directly with a job opportunity before it is posted for everyone to see. If this happens, you will receive a message from the Navigator along with a link to the job. We recommend that you review all the details carefully to determine if this opportunity is a good match for you. 


Tip: Quick Responses matter! Whether you see a job on the Job Board or a direct request from an Upwards Care Navigator, families value a prompt reply. Responding within 24 hours can help you stand out and increase your chances of booking a tour or enrolling a new family in your care.


Can I receive alerts about new jobs in my area?

Absolutely! You can easily stay up to date on the latest job opportunities near you. 


How do I turn on Job notifications on the Upwards App?

1. Open the Upwards App and tap "View Jobs" on the Home Page.

You can also select "Menu" in the bottom right corner and select "Jobs" to connect with nearby families who need care. 


2. Select the bell in the top right corner of your screen. 

You can adjust the job notification settings to best meet your needs. Use the toggle buttons to turn on Push Notifications, Emails, or both! You can filter by:

• Frequency - You have the option to choose a daily or weekly alert.

• Push Notifications - You can toggle this option and receive a reminder in the App.

• Emails - Want to receive a daily or weekly reminder? Toggle this option if you prefer to check your email!

Tip: You have to toggle Push Notifications or Emails in order to adjust the frequency!


How do I turn on Job notifications on the Upwards Website?

1. Go to the Upwards Job Board: https://upwards.com/jobs

You can also navigate to this page by selecting your profile photo in the top right corner. Select "Jobs" which will bring you to the Upwards Job Board. 


2. Select the Job Notifications Bell in the top right corner of your screen. 


3. You can adjust the job notification settings to best meet your needs. 

Use the toggle buttons to turn on Push Notifications, Emails, or both! You can filter by:

• Frequency - You can choose between a daily or weekly alert.

• Push Notifications - You can toggle this option and receive a reminder in the App.
